Main Street Mile - "A Mile for Men's Health"
The Main Street Mile, "A Mile for Men's Health" will be returning to downtown Boise for a 5th year on Friday night, June 27. Bandanna is pleased to again be one of the sponsors of this great event which supports prostate cancer and uses proceeds to provide free prostate exams to the men of the Treasure Valley over a four day period. Bring the family out to see 20 mascots compete in the ultra-competitive J105 Mascot Scamper, then let the 10 and under crowd chase the Meadow Gold ice cream truck! Stick around for the ever popular First Responders Team Challenge and see police, fire and military compete in full gear.
This is truly the "boy" version of Race for the Cure, come out and support the men in your life...1 in 6 men will get prostate cancer in their lifetime.

Friends of Gar
The Main Street Mile will be forming a "Friends of Gar" group to honor Gar Hackney, who recently lost his battle with prostate cancer. We would like to extend an invitation to those of you who knew Gar to participate and honor his memory as an avid competitor, athlete and community member. Gar was an instrumental member in the running, cycling and triathlon communities, touching many lives and leaving a positive impression in his wake. To be a part of "Friends of Gar", simply do one of the following: If registering online, in the box marked coupon code, enter GARH. If registering via paper entry form, simply list "Friends of Gar"in the section marked Team Name. Nothing further is needed and you are free to compete in any wave you like. Or you can register for multiple waves ($10 each) and, as a group, run in the Mayor's Mile for Everyone. |

Maintain Fit Teleconference
Rich Harris, one of the co-owners of Bandanna, will be doing a teleconference on running shoes on Thursday, June 5th. Daniel Watrous, the founder of MaintainFit.com, an exercise, fitness and health web site, will host the teleconference. The focus will be on finding the right running (or walking) shoe for you, why the correct shoe matters and what the differences are between all those shoes you see in a running store.
The first 15 people who register for the call will receive a high quality DVD of a video made at Bandanna Running & Walking covering a wide variety of shoe information.
