The Treasure Valley Family YMCA's Youth Track Club "Team Idaho" has been
serving the youth of Boise and the Treasure Valley for the past 24 years.
Team Idaho is recognized as one of the top clubs in the nation. The club's goal
is to help develop youth, not only in track and field, but build character values as well.
All abilities are welcome, from beginner to elite. We encourage kids to make track
and field a fun way to stay healthy and fit. Your child chooses their event, and is
coached by the YMCA’s awesome staff, as well as local high school track coaches. This
feel-good program will give your child the confidence to try several different events,
and find where their strengths lie.
The Head Coach for the Y-Track & Field Program is Tim Severa,
a YMCA employee of more than 24 years and the co-founder of
the Team Idaho Track Club. Tim is well known and respected in
the community for his skill and love of Track and Field. Runner's
WOrld Magazine awarded Tim the Golden Shoe Award in 1982 for his
efforts in making running a mainstream sport in the Treasure Valley.
Assisting Tim are more than 40 hand-selected volunteer and staff coaches.
Many of our coaches hold at least a level one USAT&F coaching certification
and have more than a century of combined Track & Field coaching experience.
Some of our coaches even participated in Team Idaho when they were young.
You won't find a better Track & Field coaching staff anywhere in the State of Idaho.

The purpose of this program is to give those kids who would like
to improve their abilities past the regular season an opportunity
to train with other area kids. Area kids team up and represent
Idaho at State, Regionals, and National USAT&F Cross Country
Championships. Team Idaho allows kids striving to improve to
the best of his or her ability - no matter what ability - a
chance to get coaching that will help them reach their goals.
